Langmeil “The Freedom” 1843 Shiraz 2010

Hero Notes:

Here is a wine that is all about story and remembrance. Made from the original settlers’ first vine plantings, and coming from one of the Barossa’s first established villages, Langmeil’s venerable old vines make tasting any vintage – current or otherwise – a little like looking at a photograph from the past. Thought to be the oldest producing Shiraz vines in the world, 165 years of six successive generations of effort give up wonderful flavours of licorice, spice and rich dark fruit . Dark, dense brooding wine.
