Hero Notes:

It takes courage, faith and vision to be a true pathfinder, and David Wynn certainly needed all three of those qualities when he established this vineyard for his son, Adam, in the 1960s. At the time, people thought the idea was total folly, as the altitude (above 550 metres), rocky terrain, and dry, windswept land meant that any viticultural pursuit would be a marginal call. Some forty years on, Mountadam is on the brink of a new era of excellence and excitement, and this pure, sculptured Chardonnay – as if hewn out of the very rocks among which it grows – is a great example of its future.
