Hero Notes:

The idea that producing great wine can become a commitment beyond obsession is not lost on founder and winemaker, Rick Kinzbrunner: ‘I made this wine for me. Love it or hate it, I don’t really care,’ he declares without any sense of irony or apology. Grown on south facing slopes at over 400 metres of altitude, this is the estate’s first release to be fully matured (22 months) in the underground, granitic cave, recently blasted out of the ground with dynamite. Famed for its texture and its mineral qualities – and the subsequent interplay of richness offset by length and line – Giaconda Chardonnay is proof that ultimate style can also have ultimate substance.
